Awareness & Prevention Resources | Other Training Opportunities
Community outreach fulfills an important function by increasing public awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault while distributing resources available to assist victims and their families.
The DVCC collaborates extensively with community partners statewide by participating in public outreach events such as health fairs, faith-based workshops, and interactive resource tables.
These events are ideal for parents & families, clergy, educators, health care professional, counseling professionals, judicial branch employees, law enforcement, and victim advocates who want to learn about domestic violence and its affects. We can customize the events to address the needs of your community or organization.
Each year, the DVCC works with middle and high school Wellness Centers and school nurses statewide to provide teen dating violence awareness and prevention education. Activities that reach tweens, teens and young adults include interactive resource tables, school “lunch & learns” as well as classroom awareness sessions. This Teen Dating Violence link provides additional resources for starting a discussion.
