2018 Outstanding Service Award Recipient

The Domestic Violence Coordinating Council is pleased to recognize Bob Hirst as the 2018 DVCC Outstanding Service Award recipient.

Robert “Bob” Hirst, Esquire, had a long and successful career as a legal services attorney in New England. He decided to “retire” and move to Delaware to be closer to family. Upon his arrival in Delaware, he contacted the Delaware Volunteer Legal Services, Inc.(DVLS) to see how he could volunteer and use his legal knowledge and experience to help that agency. Bob became admitted to the Delaware Bar for the sole purpose of doing bro bono work. Bob volunteers his time to assist victims of domestic violence with Protection From Abuse (PFA) matters twice a week, every week, often assisting multiple clients per day. Bob has handled some of the most challenging cases for the agency. He has also assisted victims of domestic violence with custody matters. Since July 2016, Bob has assisted over 165 victims of domestic violence with family law matters. Bob also has served as a mentor for many attorneys who are new to Family Court.
